The main objective of the German-Indian school partnerships is to build a long-term, stable partnership between young people and teachers in schools in both countries.
The IndienHilfe Deutschland e.V. has already initiated several school partnerships between German and Indian schools in the Osnabrück region. The partnership should be supported by the young people as well as the teachers of the partner schools, so that intercultural learning can be developed. A further aim of the German-Indian school partnerships is to promote education and learning through intercultural encounters.
The German-Indian School Partnerships thus correspond to the schools' main objectives of supporting pupils in their development into socially responsible personalities, cultivating a lively school life, fighting racism and discrimination and promoting peace and justice.
A school partnership offers a learning field for topics and goals such as peace and human rights education, development and economic education, environmental education, global learning, interreligious and intercultural dialogue and the perception of social responsibility. It is to be developed and expanded through letter contacts between the students, exchange of information between the colleges and, where opportunities exist, mutual visits.
